Irish Country Kitchen Plaques

Hand painted on blocks of wood approximately 12 inches long by 6 inches tall, these traditional and charming yet stylish Irish kitchen plaques are individually hand-lettered and decorated with the name of the proud owner to display in their kitchen. This is only a small sampler of our collection of kitchen plaques, with many other names added on a regular basis. A charming touch of Irish country kitchen flavour for everyone.

Hi June. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving such a lovely comment! : ) I'm missing Ireland at the moment as we usually come over every year but missed last year and won't get this year either. I lived in Mayo for a while years ago but usually head for west Kerry when we come over now. All the best with your beautiful plaques. They're amazing!

Hi Aileen - Thanks so much for the compliments on my kitchen plaques and thanks for coming over for a visit to my blog. You're the very first to post a comment, and I'm chuffed. :)

Whereabouts in Mayo did you live? The next time you're in Ireland, it'd be brilliant to arrange to meet up - you'd be very welcome. I've been to Kerry years ago and loved it.

I wish you the very same with your beautiful pieces, Aileen - they are all so beautiful. I've subbed to your blog and have told my e-friends about your blog and your designs, so expect some new visitors over there soon.

Slan go foill,
June

I love, love, love these kitchen plaques, June! Especially the one with the strawberry cake! They're absolutely wonderful.

Thanks so much for the lovely comment, Jane. I love working on the kitchen plaques. Each one of them is truly a joy to create.

As much as I love all the images, I have to say that my current favourites are the gingham ones - I've also put a slice of carrot cake on a blue gingham background, a plate of cookies on a pink gingham background and a cherry cake on a yellow gingham background. It's a lot of fun mixing and matching the images with the different colour gingham patterns. Because I've not been able time-wise, to get into the kitchen to bake as much as I love doing and so very much have missed doing lately, this has sort of become my baking alternative :)

As I've received quite a few e-mails from people wanting specific or uncommon or unusual names or nicknames, I've pretty much decided that I'm going to be doing commissioned plaques, hopefully in the very near future. Watch this space...

Slan go foill,
June

I love these plaques! I'll probably have to commission you for a custom one in the sort of near future!

Hi Pili - Delighted to have you here for another visit, and I'm chuffed that you like these kitchen plaques.

I do commissions for these, so e-mail me with your specifics and we'll have a chat about what you'd like. I'm just finishing up two other commissions at the moment - one for a friend's mother as a surprise birthday prezzie, and one for a chocolate shop in Galway. It brings me great joy doing these kithen plaques, especially as they're personalised, and often, with special or unique nicknames or unusual or variations on a particular spelling of a name, it makes it even more personal and special, which pleases me no end.

Thanks again for stopping by, Pili, and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Slan go foill,
June
